The city of Setúbal has numerous neighbourhoods, the most traditional being Troino, Fontainhas and Santos Nicolau, areas where a large part of the fishing community lived. Currently, in this neighborhood there are some establishments related to the health area, as well as the main bus station of the city.
The Saboaria area, as well as the Fontainhas area, were, during the 20th century, places of great industrial concentration. Fish canning factories in Setúbal were nationally recognized, and in recent years there have been some efforts to reactivate this activity in the city, which attracted many workers from the Alentejo and Algarve during its period of greatest dynamism.
Currently, in the Saboaria area there are several restaurants installed, with a somewhat varied gastronomic offer. Also in this area, most of the city's nightclubs and bars are located, as well as an urban revitalization effort has been made by contractors and the city council itself. Among the projects already carried out are the Pólis Programme, which reorganized Avenida Luísa Todi.
