The rooms were designed to be comfortable, functional and very efficient. Each villa has a private area of 500m2, with about 300m2 of free green area, where each family can create their garden or vegetable garden, painting their scenery.
The house was designed to be a one-story house with 2 bedrooms, with two more bedrooms on the upper floor. In this way, even people with reduced mobility can enjoy the essential spaces of the house.
The dwellings are passive solar, that is, they are naturally warmer in winter (large glazing to the south) and cooler in summer (shaded windows and natural ventilation). Both the orientation and the layout of the interior spaces were designed so that the houses are functional, comfortable, adaptable to the needs of each family and very efficient in the use of energy and water.
The large windows on the south open onto a porch with a deck and a wooden pergola, where you can plant a vine or place an awning to increase the shade area in summer.
As the prevailing winds come from the north, the south-facing deck area is sheltered from the wind, making it the perfect place to enjoy sunny days even in winter.
The project was inspired by the concept of Co-housing adapted to the Portuguese reality to create a safe and welcoming space that can nourish your family. The condo room has about 20m2 and a toilet. In addition to the gardens, a community garden in permaculture that looks more like a garden. The pool will be built in the last phase of construction.
The development was designed to integrate with the surroundings, using, for example, local stone. One of the goals is that all houses can have privacy and excellent sun exposure.
This project was influenced by the concept of co-housing. The common spaces are intended to be spaces of sharing and abundance that can involve everyone to the extent that is comfortable for each one.
The condominium room, in addition to being a space for meetings or meetings, can be used as a cowork or for recreational and educational activities.
The community garden is designed on the principles of permaculture, has several fruit trees and raised beds where you can grow all kinds of vegetables and medicinal and ornamental plants.
To preserve the local fauna and flora, next to the community garden, on the edge of the property, a corridor of "native" vegetation is left, composed of various types of shrubs, alders and wild olives.
Controlled Mechanical Ventilation (VMC) is an appliance with a heat exchanger that is constantly renewing the air inside the house, putting new and filtered air in the living rooms and bedrooms, removing saturated and humid air from the kitchen and bathroom. A well-ventilated house prevents the creation of humidity, and significantly improves the quality of the indoor air.
