This villa with 5 rooms on the first floor and a total area of 177 m2, has several rooms on the ground floor that were formerly used for commerce (grocery store, butcher and tavern), is located in the village of S. José das Matas, 5 minutes from the exit of the A23..
This village can be considered the ultimate symbol of the ancient crossings of people, goods and animals from one bank to the other of the Tagus River, carried out since time immemorial - legend has it that the funeral procession of Queen Santa Isabel passed through there on the way to Coimbra -, the old iron barge can still be seen in the place today. A historical icon for the people of Amieira do Tejo, the old 'boat' is now witnessing the rebirth of this ancestral link between the two banks.

- ROUTE OF THE WOODS and THE VALLEY OF OCREZA (2021/22) where it is possible to register the presence of human and animal figures, predominantly geometric figures and perforated spots, the oldest being around 20,000 years old. In fact, this is the only site in the Tagus Valley that features a Paleolithic engraving. In addition to the figures, the local fauna and flora are also worthy of a couple of hours of your time. Take the binoculars.
You can also find the Cooperativa Agrícola das Matas, the oldest in Portugal. Created to satisfy the needs of local producers, it was developed focused on the production of olive oil, one of the products that make up the famous three A's of Mação: air, water and olive oil, all of excellent quality.
