São Marcos is an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Sintra. Population: 17 412 inhabitants. It was a parish belonging to the city of Agualva-Cacém in the municipality of Sintra. In 2013, as part of the administrative reform, it was extinguished, and integrated with the parish of Cacém, creating the Union of Parishes of Cacém and São Marcos.

As the name implies, the evangelist is Saint Mark.

Until 2001, São Marcos was a town belonging to the parish of Agualva-Cacém, in the municipality of Sintra. Located at the southern end of the parish, and leaning against the municipality boundary (facing the parish of Porto Salvo, in the municipality of Oeiras).

In July 2001, the old parish of Agualva-Cacém was divided into four new parishes, including São Marcos. In the same month, the village of Agualva-Cacém was elevated to city, leaving the four new parishes to constitute the new city.

The former parish of São Marcos was the second largest in the city of Agualva-Cacém, and the most distant geographically from its center.
