VILA BOIM Summary of the History of this Millenary Village:
Vila BOIM It has some vestiges of settlement since the prehistoric period as evidenced by some dolmens discovered in the locality.
In the 2nd century BC, the Romans arrived in Vila Boim.
The beginning of the documented history of Vila Boim, occurs with the arrival of the Moors, who baptized it of Moçarava.
In 1226 D. Sancho II expelled the Muslims of Elvas and it is supposed that the same happened in the same year in Vila Boim.
Already in the reign of D. Afonso II, Vila Boim was donated to D. João de Aboim, leaving the designation of Moçarava, to adopt in a first phase the name of Vila Aboim and later that of Vila de Boim. Throughout the second half of the twelfth century D. João de Aboim acquired more land until, at an uncertain date, when Elvas delimited manorial possessions by standards, the municipality of Vila Boim emerged.

From 1305, the municipality of Vila Boim was in possession of the crown, until 23 of January of 1374, D. Fernando extinguished the county and integrated it in the county of Elvas, to re-create it on 14 July of the same year
